The CDOS Commencement Credentialing process takes many educators working together so that the student can meet the requirements.  This section offers CDOS related resources for each group. 
Please refer to general CDOS information that will apply to all educator groups.

Guidance Counselors often are responsible for tracking student progress towards CDOS Commencement Credentials.  These resources are designed to aid guidance counselors in streamlining this task.

CAREER PLAN

A career Plan is a required document for a CDSO Commencement Credential.   A student will complete this plan over time with a knowledgeable  adult assisting.  The questions will assist a student in defining their career interests and make plans to gain skills for that career.

EMPLOYABILITY PROFILE

The Employability Profile is a required document for attaining a CDOS Commencement Credential.  A student will, over time, complete the activities on the profile with supporting adults,

TRACKING PROGRESS SAMPLE

Each district will have procedures for tracking progress towards a CDOS Commencement Credential.  The form used by the Hammond Central School District is attached as a sample.

SETTING A STUDENT UP IN CAREER ZONE

Career Zone is a service of NYSED.  Students will log in to the Career Zone system and create an account.  Career Zone is deigned to assist a student with refining their search for a career that matches their skills and interests.

DCDT FAST FACTS

The Council on Exceptional Children's Division of Career Development and Transition (DCDT) offers up-to-date and comprehensive information a a variety of topics related to CDOS.

CBWED DAILY EVALUATION

A daily rating sheet for ten performance skills needed to complete a job.  Rates students in the following areas:

  • Attendance

  • Workplace Apprearance/Hygiene

  • Takes Initiative

  • Quality of Work

  • Knowledge of Workplace

  • Response to Supervision

  • Communication Skills

  • Solves Probems and Makes Decisions
